HIMALAYAN PRAYER POSTURES
POSE II
1) Lie on your abdomen in a prone position.
Ø The dorsal part of your feet stay in contact with the floor at all times.
Ø The upper back bends in cobra pose.
2) Join your hands in a namaste (prayer position).
Ø The arms stay bent at the elbows
Ø The thumbs maintain contact with the sternum.
Ø The elbows must not make contact with the floor.
Ø This is the starting position for all the prayer postures.
3) Exhale and extend your arms in front of you as you straighten your elbows.
Ø The arms remain horizontal to the floor.
Ø The hands stay in contact with each other.
4) Now inhale and take your arms to the side like the wings of a bird that is gliding through the air.
Ø The palms should face the floor
Ø Keep stretching your arms from the shoulders to the tips of your fingers.
5) Exhale and return the position no No.3.
6) Inhale and return to the starting prayer pose position.
Perform this move rapidly. Initially you may count up to 5 repetitions, slowly increasing to the count of 10 as you attain a level of mastery over the movements.
